June highlights

Sure, it's the middle of July, but here are the highlights from June. Better late than never!

Started the month with a lemonade stand. Our neighbors joined and Rhett raked in $30!
Everyday swim lessons aren't are favorite, but Rhett improved a lot. Tessa loves wearing his glasses.
Hiking at Lair o the Bear and then cooling down with rocks in the creek.
Watching American Ninja Warrior inspired the stuffie warped wall. Surprisingly, it was Garfield that did the best.
She insists on carrying three toys at a time at the splash pad.
 More Elitches!
Rhett got to walk on the field with his t-ball team before a Rockies game!
"Go Rockies! Go Rockies" She still says it weeks later if we ever talk about rocks.
 Baseball fans!
Andre smoked ribs for 6 hours on Father's Day and they were amazing. I felt bad I didn't make the dinner, but he was more than happy to do it.
I'm a sucker at garage sales. Tessa is obsessed with her new car.
The goats came to the library! Rhett was so brave to hold one and walk another through an obstacle course.
Trip to Couer d'Alene. Rhett loved finding Mudgy and Millie around town.
Such a fun trip! So fun to spend time with cousins, Nana and Poppy, and my grandpa in a beautiful place that means so much to me.
This is Tessa eating a hamburger at the airport at 9pm. We bought the burger in Spokane but she didn't eat it until she wanted a "snack" when we landed.
Tessa's birthday! She loved the attention from her birthday button at the zoo.
Miss Independent carrying her own birthday bear out of the mall. When did she get so big?
I transformed this plastic garage sale playhouse for Tessa's birthday. I think I spent as much on spray paint as I did on the actual house, but she loves it.
More t-ball. Rhett was the cutest catcher, but couldn't see anything through the mask.
Tessa's puppy birthday party on the hottest day of the year. She and her little friends had a blast!

may highlights

Summertime! School is out and the weather is finally getting better. In the last week, we've had snow, serious wings, major hail, and rain, but things are finally looking up! We're excited for a fun summer full of adventure.
Here are our highlights from May!
Field Day fun! It brought back so many elementary memories, and Rhett had the best time. Tessa came with me to help wrangle the kids, and all of kindergarteners loved her and wanted het to play too.
This girl and her hats. She insisted on wearing a beanie in warm weather.
Also, very protective of treats. She wasn't risking anyone stealing her Easter clearance chocolate.
Andre turned 30! Bundt cakes all day
 These two
Beehive un-birthday party! It was a miracle the neighbors didn't call in a noise complaint, but we had a great time.
And we're back at Elitches! Tessa loves that she can ride a lot of the rides this year. The boats are her favorite.
 Nature explorers.
Mini golfing at Rhett's friend's birthday party.
Future ballers. Again, Tessa with the hat.
Bolder Boulder! Andre trained for like 2 weeks and still did great.
Tessa insisted on bringing the Costco receipt to swim lessons because the receipt checker drew a smily face on the back. Now Tessa think it's hers and considers it her most prized possession. Also, that hat and Rainbow the dog come with us everywhere these days.

april highlights

Hunting for ladybugs in the backyard. For some reason, ladybugs love our yard, so there's always a lot to find.
College friends came to town, so we got the kids together for some fun adventures. It's a little different hanging out together now than when we were newlyweds in school.
Tessa insists on wearing sun hats, but we only have hats from last summer that are way too small. It doesn't stop her! This was an interesting outfit day with her choice of hat and shoes, but she was covered and happy, so we'll take it.
Warm weather means lots of park days!
Season pass weekend at Elitch's meant a special day for just me and Rhett. It was snowing, so we didn't last long, but we still had a good time. Rhett rode bumper cars four times in a row because it was covered and dry. Looking forward to lots of (warmer) fun this summer!
Practicing his sight words with Javy the stuffed javalina, on loan from Grammy and Gramps
Showing off his Jasper Johns-inspired art at the school art show. I love seeing his creativity grow in art class.
Date night to the Rockies! We had great seats and even had a foul ball land right in front of us. If I hadn't been holding onto Andre so hard in fear, he could have reached out and caught it.
While Andre worked on the big garden beds, the neighbors helped us plant the patio herb garden. Lots of helpers meant the plants got man-handled, so hopefully they survive!
The Easter bunny brought art supplies for these art lovers.
Rhett and Tessa are just the cutest together. This sums their relationship up well: Rhett does everything to "help" Tessa, even if it's a little difficult or uncomfortable. Here he's helping her find an Easter egg.
 Easter Sunday!
A beautiful day off school coincided with national pretzel day and free soft pretzels, so we went to an amazing mall playground and had a snack. The only reason to share this picture is Tessa's face.
Rhett has been into spikey hair lately (thanks to the gorilla snot gel), and one day he requested a mohawk for school. I did my best, even with his cowlicks in the back.
