they say it's your birthday

Andre's birthday was nearly two weeks ago, but better late than never, right?

I'm no longer a cradle robber, now that my dear husband has joined the 23 club! We had lots of fun celebrating Andre's birthday, including decorating the apartment, going on a picnic dinner, a Brazilian feast at Tucano's and dinner and cake with friends. Happy birthday to Andre!

He even wore the birthday crown I made him. What a guy!

And of course, it would be Andre's special day if he didn't take advantage of the birthday clubs. He got free ice cream at Coldstone and Baskin Robins and free lunch at Noodles and Company plus a free Redbox. Plus we took advantage of the buy-one, get one free meals at Tucano's and Red Robin.

Rooftops and almost-super moons make for the best evenings
Homemade Cafe Rio pork makes a disproportionate amount of tomatillo sauce and give you leftovers for days
Planning for a husband's birthday is probably more fun than planning for your own
The Avengers is the greatest
Middle school kids aren't as cool as you thought you were in middle school
Being able to actually sleep in on a Sunday is also the greatest
Andre makes breakfast in bed like a champ
And also does a spot-on impersonation of a dancing walrus
Hot dogs are even better when they are free

king of the freebies

One of Andre's new favorite hobbies and stress relievers is finding freebies and good deals. He is quite the champ and it is always an adventure at our mailbox. He orders so many things that we forget about them and its like Christmas when they arrive 6-8 weeks later!

hey weekend hey

It was one of those crazy weeks where we barely saw each other until the sun had gone day every day. So let's just say we were looking forward to a relaxing weekend and it didn't disappoint. From nature exploration for André's geology class, a beautiful temple trip, pizza picnic at the park, and of course our view for most of the weekend--General Conference.

meet the newest citizens

We've officially reached adult people status. 

In an attempt to be more "responsible" and "frugal", we were some of the few people in Provo who didn't go to the midnight Hunger Games show. We got our Saturday matinee on instead and loved every minute of it.

We are now officially citizens of Panem and André takes every opportunity he can to rub it in that all the tributes from my district get killed on the first day of every Hunger Games. whatever...District 9 all the way. And Peeta, obviously. because he is the greatest.
