you've had a birthday

actually me--I've had a birthday. And a great one at that! Mother Nature was definitely on my side and brought a weekend of 70 degree weather (in Colorado! in February!) Definitely a treat.

We celebrated all weekend with family time, birthday freebies, outdoor celebrations in perfect weather, pizza and movie night, delicious cake(s), and a wonderful date night.

Squirmy toddler with a ball and no pants--typical. This was as good as it got for a picture of Rhett's birthday artwork.
75 degrees in short sleeves in February--is this real life?
We didn't get a picture of Andre and I on the birthday date, but I did snap this pic of our appetizer. I ate shrimp, people!

I'm seriously having a hard time coming to terms with 26 (why does that sound so old? what have i done with my life??)

this is the good stuff.

Ah, General Conference weekend. One of the best times of the year. Paired with perfect fall weather and perfectly timed baby naps, we got to enjoy lots of conference and lots of fun, including picnics, gym trips, harvest festivals, and relaxing together.

One of my favorite parts after General Conference is seeing all those cute little quote posters pop up (allll over) the Internet as little nugget reminders of a great weekend. Here are a few of my faves:

50 in 2012

If one goal is good, 50 is better, right? One of the things I miss most about being in school is constantly having a project to work on or something to cross off the to-do list. But I also have a lot more time to do things I've always wanted to do. So here are my list of things I'm going to accomplish in 2012. (I figure posting on the blog with give me some kind of accountability)

We're off to a great start! I've already finished three things and am working on some others. We even made 3 new recipes just this week. Just 37 more to go!
