little moments: februrary

warm weather, lots of friends, and plenty of adventures. February was a good month. But for 28 days, it also felt really long? I'm looking back at these pictures and can't believing it all happened this month.
Easy to please: just a box and his favorite stuffie, Flutterbee.
Can't get over this cute boy going to church
Photo booth fun at the children's museum
Rhett doesn't nap anymore, but he'll fall asleep if we're out and about in the afternoon. I discovered I can transfer him to the shopping cart and enjoy some quiet shopping time--it's a win-win
A science museum trip with friends. Rhett talked about it non-stop for day afterwards
We found the llamas on our way to see literally every exhibit in the museum
Celebrating Burke's birthday at Chuck e Cheese...Rhett was slightly terrified of this ride
Seriously, the weather was amazing. First bike ride of the year! Gotta start training for those Strider races this summer.
New Beginnings with the great YW. It was an Up theme, hence all the balloons.
And then our kitchen got taken over by water beads.

the things that rhett says

Having a three-year-old definitely makes things interesting. Rhett always makes us laugh, but as his personality and smarts grow, he has us in stitches on a regular basis. Some of his recent gems that I don't want to forget:

"I wish it was Christmas"
Me too, Rhett. Me too.

"Thank you for the sick people"
Rhett made a chart in primary of things to pray for but didn't break it down into thank yous and please bless. He thanked God for sick people for days and André and I lost it every time.

"My fever is gone, but my cough is still there."
Repeatedly, when asked if he was feeling better. Doctor in training?

"Does Baby like cereal? Does Baby like noodles?"
Rhett constantly asks is the baby likes different foods, especially whatever we're eating at the moment. If he's feeling feisty, he'll ask about something he knows I can't have, like "Does Baby like hot dogs?" My favorite so far was when we were on a walk and Rhett asked "Does Baby like seeing squirrels?"

"Does Cupid poop in his diaper?"

"We looked for crystal treasures outside at preschool today. I found 15!"

Rhett loves everything about primary. I got a report from the music leader that when he gets chosen to be a helper, he jumps out of his chair, fist pumps, and says, "yes!"

"Maybe we can be buddies forever"
To an older girl at the park. It was pure joy when they reunited at the library a few hours later.

little moments: january

Honestly, I'm so over winter at this point. Give me spring! But even though we're fighting cabin fever around here, January was pretty great (except the last few days we've spent at home with a sick Rhett). Highlights!
We came across a bike obstacle course at the mall one day and Rhett was super into it.
Rocking our trip to the zoo. The baby gorilla was our favorite.
Sometimes Rhett falls asleep before bedtime, usually while reading a Thomas book. There's almost always one within arm's reach.
Girl's day to Celestial Seasonings! These ladies have converted me to herbal tea.
A friend gave us a baby mat that Rhett immediately claimed as his tent that he would "maybe" share with baby.
19 weeks pregnant and finally a bump after eating all day...really I'm just embracing the pudgy phase
The winter doldrums have kept us exploring indoor play areas--we found this gem at a neighboring rec center
Lots of time at the church practicing for women's conference. Rhett always needs his turn when I'm done.
