oh nostalgia

Back to school time always makes me nostalgic, but this year is extra special. Five years ago this week, two slightly nerdy and overly excited freshman met for the first time and became great friends.
Who would have thought that five years later these crazy kids would be married?
I think we will celebrate with a trip to the creamery and a roll down the library hill. Maybe we are still freshman at heart.

we built this city on brigham young

We set off bright and early last Saturday to check out the Brigham City Temple open house with the Kaisers. A beautiful day at a beautiful place. I love the spirit of the temple and the peace it brings, even before it is officially dedicated. I think we'll be making another trip up north to see the temple in action sometime soon!

our life is a TLC show

In the past four days, we have gone to four weddings. Just like the show on TLC. Except in our version there isn't a grand prize honeymoon giveaway at the end.

a backyard garden reception
an eleganty rustic slushie and photobooth celebration
an afternoon garden party
a mountain top, twinkly light, magical evening

I just love weddings and I loved the chances we had to celebrate with family and friends. Andre and I love the chance to reflect on our own wedding day. Happy wedding season!

the hunt continues

The latest entries to the Great Fry Hunt of 2012...

5 Guys

A little soggy, but fresh. Tasted good that night but sunk like a rock in my stomach the next day (note to self--stopping for some late night fries may seem like a good idea at the time, but it's not)

André liked them more than I did, but overall they were pretty good
They weren't really number 1, but I didn't want to hurt anybody's feelings on our sign.

McDonalds

I (surprisingly) liked these fries! With my refined french fry palate, I realized these tasted a lot like Smashburger's fries, only saltier (their only downfall). André wasn't impressed. Negative points for atmosphere and service, but the cherry berry chiller I got on the side was delicious.
(this is how we celebrated the end of André's finals, because we're classy like that)

And for the record, we eat lots of fruits and vegetables at home. This is our indulgence.
